The everchanging marketplace is putting new products and price options out there for consumers. It is also creating new partnerships, new ways of doing business and new obstacles in maintaining current production levels for businesses of all sizes. While some are playing the stock market game, others are penny pinching and putting any extra savings away in hopes the rainy day that comes will not be a hurricane and flood.

But the threat of real storms is something business owners will have to think about. Given that sea levels continue to rise, that coastal properties are vulnerable to hurricanes and winter storm damage, maybe North America should be taking a clue from northern Europe and their floating city architects when thinking of where to build and how. They can also learn from innovative dam and hydro-electricity projects that exist in below the surface so as not to take away from the scenery. This futuristic but realistic approach to turning a problem into a solution echoes in many green minded engineering practices.

How can you take advantage of these types of technologies in your area at a fraction of the cost? Hire a student engineer or two. You may not be able to fit everyone in the store at the same time the way you did before COVID 19, but taking advantage of the many government initiatives to keep the youth employed, enable students to put their learning to practical use, can get you a few extra minds, extra hands and extra solutions. Simple Office Solutions can help with your grant applications, work with you to formulate a real plan of action to get the most of your new human resources so you can weather the upcoming storms.
